How did you discover The Sounds?

    I'm just curious to know how everyone got into them/how old you were/first song you heard/first concert etc etc.

    And please, don't turn this into a contest of "I've been a fan longer". That's not the point.

    As for me, it was a stormy night (ha, not really) and I was bored on myspace when suddenly a banner with five very good looking people
    popped up on my screen, so I clicked it and went to their page. Back then my internet was ridiculously bad dial-up so I had to wait about 5 minutes (srsly) for painted by numbers to load. But when it finally loaded I was like OMG I LOVE DIS so the next day I went to mah muzic store and there were all like "HOO IS THA SOUNDZ???" so I had to order IBDTSTTY and Living in America in but they finally came and I was obsessed ;D It was 2006 and I was 13 which probably explains the chatspeak.

    mmm... well, let me see...
    I was sitting in my living room, doing... nothing, well I think I was eating or something... anyway, just there changing the tv channels and then just... song with a mission!
    I fall in love with the song and instantly I think
    - that girl is beauty and really amazing!, I like her style, I love them! -
    so I decided to hear they're songs, since that I can't stop to hear the sounds, babe.

    I watched MTV one day and I just saw the sounds perform painted by numbers (the video) and I just started to love Majas acting, and after that I have just loved all of them and I learning new stuffs about them every day ;)<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

    I saw the Cobra Starship video for Bring It on tv somewhere in late 2006, but they didn't show the name of the band on tv. Then a few days later I went to a Panic! at the Disco concert and The Sounds were supporting. So I recognized Maja, heard what the bands name was, looked up their music at home and then my life changed forever haha.

    My brother Josh told me about them back in like 04 and I was like "yeah whatever" and then in 06 I saw the 'snakes on a plane' video and remembered Maja and started liking them. But it wasn't until early 2008 I got really into them :)

    OK. . . I guess I'll post this again then. lol Like 2 years ago my girlfriend had "Rock & Roll" on her myspace page. . . but back then, I was just myspace stalking because we couldn't be together for dramatic insanity reasons beyond my control. . . related to my ex. . . anyway. We were at The Bottleneck last year sometime and on the event calendar it showed The Sounds. . . so we bought tickets. Annnd the rest is history. heh. heh.

    but fuck it: all thanks to bam margera =]
    i've always had a big crush on him
    so of course i watched his shows
    and the sounds played at his wedding
    so i looked them up and fell in love!

    I was staying at a London hostel and the five other people staying in the same room were Swedish. They invited me to the concert that The Sounds played at The Electric Ballroom in Camden Town in November. Amazing live show, definitely the way to check out a new band!! I came home to Canada and bought a couple of the CDs and that was it for me:)

    hmmm...I was at work, not working (why would i be?), and listening to Liz Phair radio on Pandora, and The Sounds "Much Too Long Now" came on.....and I was like, whoa, that's a pretty badass song. so I googled them (because I google everything), downloaded their album on iTunes, and fell in love. Then when i saw them live, i think i became obsessed....Maja was gorgeous, and she grabbed my hand twice ;) best day ever!!!!

    Okay, I was gonna copy and paste from the old forum, BUT I'm in a typing mood.

    Basically, I saw the film 'Music & Lyrics' with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. Loved it. Bought the soundtrack. Tony the Beat was on it. Googled the band. <--- ha that sounds kinda nawtay. heh. I liked them. Then several months later I came across the Painted by Numbers video. Then, I LOVED THEM. Then I was OBSESSED...and still am.
